Founded under Section 25 of the Indian Companies Act 1956 on February 13, 2012, SAMRUDI is dedicated to transforming the lives of rural communities in India. With over 35-40% of rural residents facing unemployment or underemployment, poverty remains a critical issue.
With SAMRUDI, we recognize that the path to a better life begins with opportunity. Through our Entrepreneurship Development Programs (EDP), Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), and Skill Development Programs, we work closely with KROSS and its 14 diocesan partners to empower individuals.
Our mission is to inspire and support rural residents to engage in sustainable livelihoods, fostering microenterprises that are vital for economic stability. By addressing unemployment and nurturing self-sufficiency, we are taking meaningful steps towards alleviating poverty and building a brighter future for all.
To see that the members of 800 democratically-governed women's organizations in Karnataka own and control their institutions, resources and programs, challenge unequal power relations and unjust social conditions and demand their rights.
Every year 500 women belonging to 50 SHGs in Karnataka will gain capacity and receive business counselling.
Every year 500 women entrepreneurs will be technically and financially supported so that they can raise their individual income by Rs. 1,500/- per month.

On 23rd May 2024, a major review session was held for the "Women in Micro Enterprises" program, backed by the SAMRUDI Rural Upliftment Foundation to review loan portfolios and assess operations.
A regional review meeting and capacity building session on "Women in Micro Enterprises" was held for all partners, focusing on training field officers.
A comprehensive review meeting for the SAMRUDI Rural Upliftment Foundation program was held at KROSS, attended by representatives from partner organizations. The meeting commenced with a prayer, setting a tone of reflection and collaboration. Mr. Harish (KDDC) initiated introductions, providing context and framing the objectives of the gathering. Following this, Sr. Mary Thomas (BDSSS) extended a warm welcome. The Director of KROSS, Rev. Fr. Richard Pais, addressed the gathering, highlighting the program’s achievements, challenges, and future directions.
A pivotal segment of the meeting involved the presentation of Samrudi reports by participating members, fostering transparency, and sharing insights into project progress and outcomes. The exchange of experiences and best practices enriched the discourse, enhancing mutual learning.
In the afternoon session, Mr. Sathyam conducted a practical session on navigating the online application process, empowering participants with essential digital skills to streamline procedures and access resources efficiently. Subsequently, the Program Coordinator, Mr. Chinnappa, provided crucial guidance on loan repayment procedures.
